Useful questions will be added to future FAQ updates.

Q. What experience is required for bare boat charter? All charters are skipper only unless the charterer can satisfy Cranford Yachts that he/she is capable of handling a boat of this size. Preferably with Yachtmaster qualifications, and/or proof of previous experience or ownership of similarly sized yachts.

Q. Is food included in the skippered rate? No. The charterer is responsible for all provisions on board, for yourselves and your skipper. However, you will receive a small welcome pack on arrival.

Q. Can we hire wet weather gear? Unfortunately, this service is not available.

Q. What is the fuel policy? Diesel for the inboard and petrol for the outboard is tanked full on handover. You will be expected to return the boat with both tanks full.

Q. Are discounts available? Yes. 5% is available on the total package price on charters of 8 days or longer.

Q. Do Cranford Yachts offer extended cruises? Yes. Should you have a specific request for an individually tailored charter or package, please do not hesitate to ask.

Q. Can we charter the boat for a handicap race? Unfortunately, no.

Q. Booking. What do we need to do? After agreeing available dates, the booking is held provisionally for 10 calendar days, during which you will receive the contract. Once the deposit and paperwork have been processed, the booking is confirmed. The balance is then due 28 days before the start of your charter.

The security deposit must be received in full, by cheque, 7 days before the charter commences. This will be refunded to you at the end of your charter, minus any inboard engine usage, and agreed damage costs as per the contract.
